Brooklyn Bridge Knife #2
steel from Brooklyn Bridge suspension cables
BUY
$260
9 1/2" overall length
This knife is forged from a section of suspension cable that was salvaged from the Brooklyn Bridge during it's renovation. Yes, really! The bridge cable is composed of seven strand cables, and I have retained these seven strands in the handle, and forge welded them together for the blade. Mr. Roebling's steel hardens up nicely and makes a nice sharp knife. It is intended as a useful small kitchen knife, but of course could be used as an especially swanky letter opener, if you like. This is of course, a limited edition of knives, I have enough of this cable to make maybe 60 knives if I'm lucky. This knife is not stainless steel, it must be wiped dry after cleaning if you want to keep it shiny. Or you can just relax and let it patinate.
