2012 Class and Demo Schedule

Here's what I know so far:

April 21 & 22: Lexington/Rockbridge Studio Tour. A great opportunity to snoop about my shop, as well as the studios of 10 other local artists. http://www.lexingtonrockbridgestudiotour.com

April 27 & 28: Smelting demo at the California Blacksmith's Association Spring Conference, Petaluma CA.

June 15-19: 5-day smelting class at Peter's Valley Craft Center. If you're truly serious about learning to smelt iron, this is the time and place to do it. We'll cover everything; charcoal-making, ore gathering and preparation, furnace construction, smelting, and forging. Each team will do two smelts, and split the resulting iron to take home. This class is hard work and big fun!

July 18-21: Smelting and bloom forging demos at the Artist-Blacksmiths Association of North America in Rapid City, South Dakota. This one's a team effort with my pals Steve Mankowski and Shel Browder of Colonial Williamsburg.

March 9-17, 2013: CollaborationNZ conference at Whangerei Heads, New Zealand. I'll go do my thing and play with other artists on the other side. Ooooh this looks like fun!
